This week on the big show, Fingers and Tracy discuss the left’s disgusting taunting of Otto Warmbier, Team Obama potentially facing the music, Finger’s successful casino trip, and Illinois budgetary mess.
Otto Warmbier, the American student who was sentenced to 15 years hard labor in a North Korean work camp for attempting to steal a poster, has passed away. From Business Insider:
On June 13, Warmbier was medically evacuated from North Korea, reportedly in a coma, and flown to Cincinnati.
Doctors caring for Warmbier said the 22-year-old was experiencing “unresponsive wakefulness,” a term that has come to replace the “persistent vegetative state.”
“He was unable to speak, unable to see and unable to react to verbal commands,” Warmbier’s parents wrote in a statement announcing his death.
That statement, however, did not mention a specific cause of death beyond the “awful tortuous mistreatment our son received at the hands of the North Koreans.” That has left many wondering what the final factor was that led to the young man’s death.
Warmbier’s story is a terrible tragedy. With the news of his passing, we were reminded of how the leftist media reacted to his sentencing, they delighted in it. Via Mediaite:
In the wake of Otto Warmbier‘s death earlier today, a lot people on Twitter are raging against liberal news sites and media figures who once blamed the American student for his own predicament.
Warmbier was arrested by the North Koreans almost 18 months ago, and accused of stealing a propaganda poster from the hotel where he was staying. Warmbier was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor and was comatose for about a year before he was returned to his family last week.
As people take in the tragic news, there are several articles and news pieces from 2016, shortly after Warmbier was arrested, now coming back to haunt media entities. Here are a few:

Remember, these people believe themselves to be compassionate. Grotesque.
President Trump was none too happy to hear about Warmbier’s passing:
And Warmbier’s father Gary, seems to share Trump’s sentiments. Gary believes that the Obama Administration could have done more to secure Otto’s release. From The Blaze:
Gary Warmbier said that the Obama administration purportedly told the family to “take a low profile” while the administration worked to bring their son home.
He said that it was only after Trump intervened that a release for his son was “aggressively pursued.”
An Obama spokesperson Ned Price was forced to issue this laughable response, from the same Blaze piece:
“During the course of the Obama Administration, we had no higher priority than securing the release of Americans detained overseas. Their tireless efforts resulted in the release of at least 10 Americans from North Korean custody during the course of the Obama administration.
It is painful that Mr. Warmbier was not among them, but our efforts on his behalf never ceased, even in the waning days of the administration. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Warmbier’s family and all who had the blessing of knowing him.”
By using fired FBI Director James Comey to attack the new Republican administration, Democrats have opened up a legal can of worms for the Obama administration.
Under sworn questioning, Comey has veered off the topic of President Trump and Russia and revealed several damning incidents in which his predecessor’s administration politically interfered in the Hillary Clinton email investigation. And now the Senate will investigate Team Obama for obstruction of justice.
Specifically, the Senate Judiciary Committee announced last week it will hold hearings to “examine then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s involvement in the Clinton email server investigation.”
Will the Republican members of the Judiciary Committee have the guts to go after Obama Administration officials? Only time will tell.
What would you do if you accidentally locked a two-year-old in a car on a scorching hot day? You’d probably call the cops. Turns out that might not be the best idea, from Reason:
Omaha, Nebraska: A woman taking her niece out of the SUV after an outing to the pool was shocked when the wind blew the door shut with her keys and the child inside. The car automatically locked. The aunt, the girl’s mom, and two other relatives frantically tried to get the door open using a hanger and screwdriver, and, when they couldn’t, they called 911. The cops arrived, broke the window, and got the child out, safe and sound.
Then the cops ticketed the mom on suspicion of child abuse by neglect.
Has everyone lost their minds? Don’t answer that.
And finally, there’s broke ass Illinois. Illinois is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, so along came John Kass over at the Chicago Tribune with a fantastic suggestion of how to solve their fiscal crisis.
Dissolve Illinois. Decommission the state, tear up the charter, whatever the legal mumbo-jumbo, just end the whole dang thing.
We just disappear. With no pain. That’s right. You heard me.
The best thing to do is to break Illinois into pieces right now. Just wipe us off the map. Cut us out of America’s heartland and let neighboring states carve us up and take the best chunks for themselves.
